Prioritise Yourself – Without Feeling Guilty

I know one of the things my clients struggle with most is making themselves a priority.

The biggest barrier?

So many women feel guilty for investing in themselves

Whether it’s an investment of time, money, effort or something else, it just doesn’t seem to sit right

Maybe it feels selfish, or maybe you don’t feel you deserve it

But here’s a thought

If you’re not happy with some part of your life

(Your body? Your relationship with food? Your fitness level?)

Then that will constantly pre-occupy you

If you’re pre-occupied, you’re not present , and you may not be enjoying the time you spend with your friends or family anyway

If you can find the energy and the courage to invest in yourself, your life will improve

I don’t work with women who ONLY want to drop a dress size or get fitter or stronger – deep down they all really want to value themselves more, set a good example for their kids, and be happy & confident

It’s not shallow to spend time, money and effort on making YOURSELF a priority – it’s a genuine investment that you’ll reap the benefits of for years to come

Do you spend all your time looking after other people?

If you feel guilty for spending time or money on yourself, remember

•You’ll feel better for it, and be a nicer person to be around because of it

•Your body will thank you for it in years to come

•If you’ve got aches, pains and niggles you’ll lift a weight off your shoulders by doing something about them

•No one needs to know, or see. If you’re self-conscious about starting a new exercise programme, forget all those ‘before & after’ pics you see online – there’s loads you can do at home, without equipment or a gym membership

•You don’t need as much time as you think. Drop those barriers – 20-30mins is plenty, and it doesn’t have to be 5 or even 3 times a week. You don’t need to get changed before or showered after. Make it as easy as you need to to get moving.

This list is just some of the things my clients have said in the past, but they’ll all admit they didn’t move forward until they found a way to get started.
