Are you always searching for motivation?
Do you think you’ll start making progress with your fitness when you find it?
I’m not a big fan of motivation.
It’s brilliant when you have it – but taking action is tough when it deserts you.
Frustratingly, motivation will desert you whenever times get tough – when life gets in the way.
So what’s the secret? How do you get motivated and stay motivated?
You don’t!
Forget motivation. What you need is momentum.
Results come from DOING – once you’ve started taking action, if you keep taking action, you’ll see progress.
So how do you find momentum?
Show up.
Find something you enjoy and keep showing up for it.
Stop trying to be perfect.
Just aim to get better.
A 5/10 effort is better than no effort at all.
Reduce the overwhelm.
Make sure your goals are manageable and realistic – going from zero training to 5 times a week is unlikely. Going from zero to 1 or 2 could be doable.
These are the tactics I’ve been using with clients for the past 10 years.
If any of this has resonated with you, I’d love to help you out.
