It’s a New Year, and it’s great to have new goals.
But, how do you know where to actually start working towards them?!
How do you know if what you do will work?!
So many people tell me they just need a bit more motivation, then it’ll all fall into place.
But lets face it:
If you’ve got a goal and a strong enough reason to achieve that goal, then you’ve probably got motivation already.
What’s probably lacking for you is direction.
- Where do you start?
- What do you need to do?
- How often do you need to do it?
- Will it be enough?
- Is it realistic?
All these things are SO important, but no one ever stops to think about them.
Fast forward to the end of January, and you’re feeling pretty rubbish because you haven’t made progress towards your goal!
Stop beating yourself up about it.
Break it down.
What behaviours do you need to do more of, in order to reach your goal?
Are you willing to do them?
If it’s a yes – great, stop procrastinating and get going.
If it’s a no – then work out what you ARE willing to do, and make a start. You’ll make more progress than if you didn’t start at all.
Feeling Overwhelmed?
When it comes to health and fitness, the simple stuff really does work – but that doesn’t make it any easier to do.
There are loads of options and it’s easy to get overwhelmed – so keep it as simple as you need to, and make sure it’s actually realistic.
A good Coach will help you prioritise your goals and fit realistic changes into your life.
They’ll keep you accountable and support you along the way.
If you think a Coach is just there to count your Reps and shout at you to keep going, find yourself a better one!
